There is a lot of guidance and documents around about play 2 learn and

sometimes it can be difficult for working parents to understand what

this really means for their child. Below is a simple breakdown

of what I believe play 2 learn means.

Learning through play is a term used in education and psychology to

describe how a child can learn to make sense of the world around them.

Through play children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments.

The key ways I will hope to achieve this with your child is to include playing in their daily activity, encouraging them to be with other people (in a safe and controlled setting), encourage them to be active, help them explore and experience new things, talking to themselves, communicating with others, meeting physical and mental challenges, being shown how to do new things, practicing and repeating skills and most importantly having fun in the process!
